Contingent from Archdiocese attends ‘March for Life’ rally A group from the Archdiocese traveled to Washington, D. C. for the 36th annual March for Life on Thursday, January 22. While they were in Washington they joined others from the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas and from around the nation at the National Prayer Vigil for Life on Wednesday, January 21.
Archbishop Joseph Naumann celebrated one of two satellite masses during the National Prayer Vigil for Life. The Archbishop celebrated Mass at Notre Dame Chapel of Trinity on the campus of Washington University.
The satellite masses were scheduled because the number of people in Washington for the March for Life was too large to for everyone to attend Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Notre Dame Chapel is located two blocks from the Basilica.
Those traveling on chartered buses were students and adults from the following parishes and schools:
· Sacred Heart Parish, Shawnee · Sacred Heart Parish, Ottawa · Maur Hill High School, Atchison · St. James Academy, Lenexa · St. Gregory, Marysville · St. Bernard, Wamego · Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Seneca· Ward High School, Kansas City, Kansas
