Archdiocesan Pastoral Council |

|
An Archdiocesan Pastoral Council is an advisor to the Archbishop and serves to investigate and weigh matters which bear on pastoral activity in the Archdiocese and to recommend practical solutions for the Archbishop’s consideration. Archbishop Joseph Naumann formed the Pastoral Council of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas in March 2009. The majority of the Council members are lay persons from various parishes throughout the Archdiocese. Two priests, one of whom represents the Presbyteral Council, and two Sisters from religious communities also serve on the Council.
Each of the eight regions in the Archdiocese has at least one representative; regions with larger Catholic populations, Johnson, Wyandotte and the Topeka regions, have more than one representative. Additionally there are members who represent certain age, ethnic or other groups in the Archdiocese. Considerable effort was made to ensure the Council was diverse and representative of the population across the Archdiocese.
The Council meets three times annually with members serving three year terms. They may be reappointed to serve an additional three-year term.
