Participants
from across the state, both young and old, gathered in Topeka Friday,
January 22 to mark the anniversary of the
Roe vs. Wade U. S. Supreme Court decision.
A mass at the Topeka Performing
Arts Center celebrated by Father Brian Schieber, pastor at
Most Pure Heart of Mary in Topeka, started
the day.After Mass a vigil and rally was
held in front of the state Supreme Court building.
Among the
participants were student delegations from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and St.JamesAcademy from the Kansas
City area.Adults from
parishes in the Archdiocese also attended the events.Members of Pro-life Committees from Holy
Angels Parish in Basehor and St. Patrick Parish
in Kansas City participated.
The pro-life rally commemorated the 37th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.
