Pro-life Rally draws 1,200 to Topeka

Participants from across the state, both young and old, gathered in Topeka Friday, January 22 to mark the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade U. S. Supreme Court decision.

A mass at the Topeka Performing Arts Center celebrated by Father Brian Schieber, pastor at Most Pure Heart of Mary in Topeka, started the day.  After Mass a vigil and rally was held in front of the state Supreme Court building.

Among the participants were student delegations from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and St. James Academy from the Kansas City area.  Adults from parishes in the Archdiocese also attended the events.  Members of Pro-life Committees from Holy Angels Parish in Basehor and St. Patrick Parish in Kansas City participated.
