KCK Monthly Mass & Prayer Vigil at Planned Parenthood

Christ the King Church in KCK hosts a monthly prayer opportunity to beg for the protection of the unborn and expectant women being harmed by KCK’s Planned Parenthood.

Help is needed to prayerfully end the violence being done to unborn children and women at the KCK Planned Parenthood.

Please promote this Monthly Third Saturday prayer opportunity to your parish communities and let’s show up to storm the heavens with prayer!

Moving forward we have scheduled two area parishes per month to offer an “Invitation to Pray” to your communities. Thank you for working with us to support this important, life-saving witness! See the schedule below. Use the attached sign up to share with your communities. Our Lady of Guadalupe, please intercede for us!

Solemnity of the Annunciation

The Solemnity of the Annunciation commemorates the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary to inform her that she was to be the mother of our Savior. It calls us to reflect on the blessing of new life and how we are to care for, protect, and welcome new life as the Blessed Mother did for the Christ child.

All expectant parents are invited for the blessing.

All are welcome!

NOTE: This event is usually celebrated on the Solemnity of the Annunciation which is March 25th, however, sometimes a different date will be chosen.

Divine Mercy Celebration

This year, the Sunday of Divine Mercy falls on April 4, so the sample timeline for the parish action guide begins in February. A webinar recording provides an introduction to the feast and its connection to pro-life ministry and gives an overview of the action guide, which is available in English and Spanish.

KS Supreme Court Ruling Anniversary

The Kansas Constitution begins by giving thanks to "Almighty God for our civil and religious privileges." It then says: "All men are possessed of equal and inalienable natural rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." On April 26, 2019, the Kansas Supreme Court held in Hodes & Nauser MDs v. Schmidt that these words protect a supposed natural right to abortion.

Join Archbishop Naumann in praying for an end to the supposed natural right to abortion in our state and a conversion of hearts so that Life might once again be protected as was intended by our forefathers.  In reparation for the harms against the unborn, expectant women and families, we encourage parishes to offer an opportunity for prayer.  Communal prayer could be in the form of:

  • A holy hour with adoration
  • The recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet either in the church or adoration chapel, or if that is not possible, to be done individually, preferable at the mercy hour of 3:00 pm
  • A Rosary (click HERE for printable resource)

A sample holy hour format can be found at HERE.

"Growing Up Girls" Fertility Awareness Event

The Pro-Life Office is excited about our new partnership with Molly Price APRN, FNP-C, MSN, and her new "FACTS" Fertility Appreciation Education for girls, young women, and their mothers.

She offers her "Growing Up Girl" program for girls and their mothers in two age groups - ages 9-12 and ages 12-14: "A Christ Centered approach to teaching about God's beauty and design of the female body in an age appropriate, fun and informative way for Moms & Daughters."  This is a wonderful resource for families.

Contact Debra Niesen at dniesen@archkck.org if you would like to offer an evening or weekend class for your parish or school families.

Molly Price, is a Nurse Practitioner who cares for families at Olathe Health Family Medicine – Blackfoot. As a Certified Marquette Method of NFP Instructor, Molly works alongside Patrick Herrick, MD.  She is a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish in Leawood.  Her new website is:  www.fertilityandchriststruth.com if you would like to learn more.

This is a faith-based, age appropriate event for moms and daughters (ages 9-12 years old) to start a discussion about:

  • the beauty and truth of your body’s feminine design
  • how to be happy and healthy growing up
  • how knowledge of your hormone superpowers will empower you!
