Core Team Update #8

Dear Core Team Members:

Sorry that the weather forced us to postpone the next phase of the planning process!  We have re-scheduled the Cluster training to March 6:

Where: St. Matthew, Topeka

When: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

What to bring: Good energy and a willingness to work with the parish core teams in your Cluster

Parish core team secretaries should e-mail their parish evaluation, parish summary form and data verification form (if different from the original) to Rose Hammes (rhammes@archkck.org) as soon as possible.

Rose will collate all this information and post it on the archdiocesan web site (www.archkck.org/topeka) so you can read about your Cluster parishes before the March 6 meeting.

For the purposes of our planning process, parishes are grouped into three Clusters or regional groupings:

Topeka City Cluster (7 parishes)

Mother Teresa

Christ the King

Most Pure Heart of Mary

Our Lady of Guadalupe

Sacred Heart-St. Joseph

St. Matthew

Mater Dei

Topeka West Cluster (6 parishes)

St. Stanislaus, Rossville

Immaculate Conception-St. Mary's

St. Bernard, Wamego

Sacred Heart, Paxico

St. Joseph, Flush

Holy Family, Alma

Topeka East Cluster (4 parishes)

St. Theresa, Perry

St. Aloysius, Meriden

St. Dominic, Holton

St. Francis Xavier, Mayetta

For your information . . .

Here are a few other updates for your information:

  1. Parish core team chairs have received a list of the core team members for every parish in their Cluster.  This is the most current information we have--if there need to be additions or corrections, please send this information to Kathy Johnson, KJohnson@TheReidGroup.biz.
  2. During the Cluster phase, you will be working with a number of forms, leading up to the Cluster Suggestions that will go to the Planning Commission. All the forms that you will be working with in the Cluster phase have been posted as individual Word documents on the archdiocesan web site: http://www.archkck.org/topeka.
  3. As you begin your work in Clusters, your core team might want to explore using a document-sharing program like Google Docs or Dropbox to work on the forms.  If you have questions about this option, contact Karen Castellon
  4. Parish facilitators are ready to assist your team in facilitating Cluster core team meetings, parish town hall gatherings and more.  These talented men and women can also help you prepare meeting agendas if you wish.  There is no cost to you for this service.  Please call or email  one of the Reid Group consultants (contact information at the left) to make the necessary arrangements.
  5. Continue to communicate with your parishioners about the planning process, using regular bulletin announcements.  Sample announcements can be found beginning in Section II, page 78 of 82.  Please adjust the content to your own situation.
PLEASE SEND US YOUR QUESTIONS FOR THE NEXT UPDATE!

Thank you again for all your good work. Please do not hesitate to call on one of your Reid Group team members if you have questions.
