Favorite Saints:

Saints Andrew and Thomas the Apostles who are my patrons. St. Thérèse who adopted me as my patroness on October 1, my baptism day.

Saints Joseph, John Paul II, and André Bessette who was born on my birthday and canonized on the day I discovered my vocation.

My advice to men considering the priesthood: I'm not yet a priest myself, but already I can say with certainty that God never fails to be outdone in generosity: as He told Peter, those who leave everything to follow him will have a hundred times (a modest estimate) in this life and life eternal in the next! Our happiness is found in doing God's will, which is really just our will purified of all selfishness! Ultimately, the call to the priesthood is discovered and nurtured in daily relationship with Him, in time spent alone in dialogue with Him in prayer.

Why I want to be a Priest:

I desire to be a priest first and foremost because the Lord has shown me so clearly that this is His will and desire for my life. In following Jesus more closely through a life consecrated to Him, I may be a vessel of His love and joy for others, drawing them to unity in Him and with each other.

Hobbies & Interests:

Obviously with being in a religious community, the time I spend in prayer is the most important thing that I do on a daily basis. I love connecting with new people through the faith and developing Christ-centered friendships. Staying in touch with family and friends and spending quality time with them is very precious and a high priority for me. I've always enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball, frisbee, and running. I appreciate reading about a hundred times more than I did when I was growing up; in particular, learning more about my faith in order to share it with others is another way I love to spend my time.

Influence:

The strongest influences on my vocation have been my family, especially my parents and 4 older siblings; the St. Lawrence Center at KU; Sr. Elena and the sisters of the Apostles of the Interior Life; Saint John Paul II; Fr. Steve Beseau, and many, many other holy priests and religious.
